Maggie Bradley is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where she received her high school diploma on merit scholarship with a concentration in ballet and had the privilege of studying with Melissa Hayden, Duncan Noble, Alonzo King, Fanchon Cordell, Trish Casey, and Brenda Daniels. Her training has also included The Hungarian National Ballet and the professional program at The Merce Cunningham Dance Studio. She holds a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts.
Throughout her training and performing career she has performed works by George Balanchine, Marius Petipa, Antony Tudor, Kraig Patterson of The Mark Morris Dance Group, and Merce Cunningham. She has danced professionally with The Pacific American Ballet Theater, Los Angeles Dancers and Choreographers, Cavanaugh and Dancers, Riedel Dance Theater, and with independent choreographers Rick McCullough, Brenda Daniels, Heidi Henderson of elephant jane dance, Allison Van Dyck, and COMPANY directed by Justin Tornow. Maggie was fortunate to take daily class with Merce Cunningham alongside his company dancers where she learned some of his well known works.
After an invitation to join Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Maggie made the decision to stay stateside and concentrate on her teaching career. She has shared her love of ballet, modern, and Cunningham based technique at The New York State Summer School for the Arts, Brown University, Rhode Island College, Providence Ballet, DanceWave in New York City, Idyllwild Arts Academy, Carolina Friends School, and The Master's School to name a few. She is currently teaching for the Pre Professional Training Program at Triangle Academy of Dance, is a Ballet Mistress at the Carolina Youth Ballet, and is an artist in residence at Culver Girls Academy in Culver, IN.
Her Cunningham based Master Class credits include Pomona College, Terpsichore of North Carolina, Pasadena Dance Center, Iowa State University, Carolina Friends School, Culver Girls Academy, and Greenwich Ballet Academy. Maggie has choreographed original work for students at The New York State Summer School for the Arts and the Carolina Youth Ballet and has enjoyed setting excerpts of The Nutcracker, Paquita, Swan Lake, Graduation Ball and The Sleeping Beauty. Her professional choreography has been seen at Brown University, Iowa State University, Rhode Island College, Broad Street Ministry Arts Center in Philadelphia, and at the former Merce Cunningham Dance Studio at Westbeth in New York City.
Maggie lives in Saxapahaw, North Carolina where she enjoys spending time with her family and their many pets and farm animals.
